Roast Woofums!

This weekend, I introduced my family to WOOFUMS. If you like roasting hot dogs, marshmallows, Starburst chews, or gummy bears on an open fire, you need to try woofums. Woofums consist of canned buscuit dough wrapped around a special "Woofum Stick" and roasted to perfection. The roasted dough then has a hole for your favorite filling. You can stuff in a hot dog, pudding, jelly, pie filling or whatever you'd like. We had Black Forest Woofums this weekend-- Nutella smeared on the inside edges and then filled with cherry pie filling.

To make a Woofum Stick you need two different sized dowels- a 1-1/4" and a 1/2" diameter dowel. Cut the 1-1/4" dowel into a 4" segment. Round off the sharp edges of this dowel segment until it looks like a small rolling pin. Drill a 1/2" diameter hole into one end about 2 inches deep. Place a little dab of wood glue inside the hole and insert the long 1/2" dowel. To prevent sticking, soak the fat end in vegetable oil for several hours or overnight before using.
